Trust in Him

Posted on

2018 is already screaming past and we have nearly finished the first month of the year !  How’s everyone’s New Year resolutions holding up?  I think stat’s say that 50% of us will have already given up – lol!  So much for resolving to do something hey ;-).  We may not be able to trust our own resolve – but we can trust God’s!

Here at JB we’ve been doing a little video series on Trusting God!  Check it out on our FB page if you haven’t already seen it www.facebook.com/jesusboytees/videos  So, we’ve covered a bit about why to trust Him – He can see the big pic and He absolutely loves you!; when to trust Him – all the time!; and another part of the why is remembering who we are in Him.

So, below I’ve listed who you are in God… some of these I say nearly every morning and some I think I need to start saying!  If we know who we are, then we will know that we are uber powerful because we belong to God and Jesus died so that we could be overcomers.  If we don’t roll with what God has opened up for us, then we aren’t really being faithful to Him and aren’t being or doing all that He has created us to be and do.

Of course, satan loves to attack us on our identity, because he knows that if we don’t remember how powerful we are, then we will be weak Christians.  Which is why, I think, we need to remind ourselves every morning who we are, and who He is.  The Almighty, the all powerful, Living God.

Who God Says You Are:

A child of the most High God (Gal 3v26)

Saved (Rom 10:9-10)

Righteous (Rom 5v1)

Loved (Is 43v3)

Free (John 8v36)

Victorious (Phil 4v13)

Blessed (2 Cor 9v8)

Healed (Is 53v5)

Filled with peace (Phil 4v17)

More than a conqueror (Rom 8v32)

Filled with joy (John 15:11)

Favoured (Prov 8v35)

These guys at Bridgeman Down Baptist and Shift really know how to put on an awesome show!!  A totally sick event with people being entertained and changed.  Lives were transformed when somebody stood up tall and told us all Truth.  So many people are living without hope, walking through life feeling hopeless and without purpose.  God has a different story for them, so when MC Dave told us how life could be with some hope, love and purpose in our lives – many responded by asking God to give that hope to them.  And the amazing thing?  God will, He does.  As we press into Him – He is always there for us.

Donna from Donna Delaney Photograhpy was so amazing to work with.  She was easy-going and has a great eye for getting the right shots! Check out her dedication…. lying on the ground to make it awesome LOL!

The models were incredible too – Joey, Hamish and Bailey made the day a lot of fun and some of the shots Donna got were just them goofing around, skating while they were waiting or just hanging out.  Awesome synergy too!  Looking forward to getting our first ever Look Book together – Yeah Boieee!

I wear my Jesus Boy shirt everywhere.  I like it because it doesn’t scream “I’m a Christian!” but it sure gets people second guessing and it also starts the odd deep conversation…And it gets His name out there too.

The most amazing encounter happened last year 2016, at Hamilton Island airport departure baggage check-in queue.  I’d been at a work conference, which had a lot of fun thrown in, and my 9 year old son with me.

A 50 something year old lady and her husband were crossing my path in this queue, and she saw my JB shirt.  She came up to me, over the aisle tape, grabbed my flannelette shirt aside to closely read my tee and see the whole graphic.  She rips in with “Hey, I really like this shirt of yours”, “Awww thanks” I replied.  Now, anyone that knows me…knows that I have zero personal space issues anyway, and I was in such a great headspace given the last 3 days of festivities, plus the mood in the place reflected one of exhausted satisfaction.  She continued, “You know it really reminds me of my son”.  I smiled and said chirpily “Ah, tell me about him”.  She said “Well he just died last week”…pause.

“We came here to get away from home and just try to move on a little bit, just too depressing being stuck at home.  But even here on this island paradise we have had the most terrible time”  The mood really changed right there.  I turned to my son, Hurley, … “You hear that Hurley?  This lady’s son has died, you’re my son, imagine how sad I would be if you died?”  I barely had to prod the kid, he’s such a little soft-hearted legend.  “Oh that’s not very nice” he said, and gave her a big hug, pressing in as though she were his own Grandma.  Then I gave her the biggest hug, as though I was her son.  And for what seemed like about 10 minutes, she bawled her eyes out on my shoulder.  What a release for her.  People in the queue just shuffled around us, we hugged there like a statue as though we were the only ones there.  Frozen in time.  The atmosphere was heavy with dark grief and mourning.  But it was her turning point.  A huge release….

*Names changed below but this was an email from this lady.

Aw… I was just thinking of you and how I genuinely believe that was divine appointment.  My heart and soul had been calling on my Lord who has been so kind to me.  I saw His name on your t-shirt and it was like he was saying “see I’m here”… I’ve tried to be a strong girl…but your T-shirt just made my spirit sing.  I really do think it was divine appt.  I needed that hug from you and Hurley and the concern and comfort you showed me at that time.  Praise the Lord for He is an awesome and caring God.  I love you back dear brother for what you did that day at the airport.  Thank you for lifting me up in your prayers too…prayer is powerful and keeps me going.  I would love one of those t-shirts maybe I can pass what happened to us forward.  (It will always remind me of *James) Thank you again Hudson.  I hope you feel as blessed being Father Gods eye, mouth and arms for me that day as I did.  God is a good God..May he bless you and keep you, may he shine his face towards you and give you his peace.  Love *Shirley

The power of His name!

Wow!!  We can hardly believe it, supplier issues are nearly all sorted out and the shelves will shortly be stocked!  The time is coming for it all to start rolling out and we are so excited!!  So many people have believed in us and believed in our product – without the support of friends and family it is all nothing.  Kind of like that scripture about love – without love it is all just like clanging cymbals (1 Cor 13) .  In other words, a whole lotta noise without much really going down.  Loving our awesome Jesus Boy family and friends – HUGS!
